Mission

Our mission is to reduce or eliminate the redundant purchasing and inefficient consumption of durable goods. Reducing the excess capacity, via community sharing, of the things that people use, but don't use "up" will help conserve natural resources and strengthen communities. We will provide an easy, enjoyable, and secure way to facilitate lending and borrowing among members of local networks.

What we do

neigh*borrow is a website that makes it easy and worthwhile for people to borrow and share things they need.

The site provides members of local networks access to a collective online catalog of the items they each own individually. Our technology facilitates the exchange of these items and promotes equitable participation and security through the use of lending requirements, accountability metrics, and customizable privacy settings. We shift accountability from a binary relationship to a collective one, maximizing the incentives of community use.

Ultimately, neigh*borrow's lend and return model helps our members save both money and the environment by providing them access to items that would otherwise be purchased new.

We offer both customized high end (SMARTaccess) and turn-key solutions for residential buildings and college campuses, and other communities. If you would like to start a private neigh*borrow-hood in your building or community, or if you would like to offer certain items to your tenants or residents and have us manage those items, please contact us. Using pre-approved email lists, smart routing of messages, geolocation, etc, we can help people in groups gain access to things they need. The white label solutions for residential building managers and rental properties to offer differentiating amenities to their residents. The same way buildings offer a common business center, roofdeck, gym or BBQ; neigh*borrow offers the same for items that people need to use but don't need to own. A neigh*bicycle, neigh*toolbox, neigh*golfclubs, etc. We deal with every aspect of these items from reservations, tracking, maintnence, fees, etc. so you don't have to.
